JFS maintains a food pantry with a wide variety of nutritious items for any individual or family needing temporary assistance. JFS is a partner agency with MANNA FoodBank. We also have Ingles gift cards for groceries and gas, as well as Asheville City Transit bus tickets. The JFS food pantry is the only food pantry in Western North Carolina that includes kosher items.
JFS applies for and administers emergency funds from the WNC Jewish Federation’s Keren Ami Fund, which is dedicated to providing assistance to Jewish individuals and families with temporary needs for rent, utilities, and other financial emergencies and crisis situations. JFS also offers funding to individuals outside the Jewish community, funded through matching gifts and donations.
